    Ivan my brother. It’s not rocket science. It’s called a warm up for a reason. You want to be warm. Whether it’s jumping rope, hoping on the bike, light jog… The point is to become warm. Far too many individuals neglect proper warmup because they want to get to the “fun stuff” asap.

    I walk for 1hr 20min twice a week and either do jumprope for 25-30 min once or 10-15 sprints or hill sprints, I of course lift trice per week aswell. Been at it for 15+ years atm, been at it without cardio and with cardio and let me tell you cardio is a must!

    If it works for you, then keep at it, boss. That's all that matters. Just be objective about it though. Monitor your progress logs and see if it really leads to improvements AKA PRs. If it does, then even more reason to keep doing it, haha.

    I remember Klokov said he improved when he added cardio. He simply was able to train even more. I'd say it's a fine balance before it impacts your top strength. Ofc. You need to find YOUR balance. I for one love running right now during summer. I don't care about top strength right now eithe so I run quite alot.

    Devon Larrat always preaches high rep blood pump work for all the structures involved in arm wrestling (wrists, elbows) as injury prevention, recovery, etc. Makes sense that doing that for the knees and hips helps the squats.

    Cardio if im not mistaken it was increasing capillary density in muscles more oxygen more blood cells more power output Ivan. I really am feeling better when i do my workout after i walk like 15 minutes on %12 incline cause it makes my lower body burn

    If you are always squatting full range of motion with straight weight, I guess a question that is left unanswered is "Are you EVER really really stressing the top range of motion?". Imho, you can do a lot of things to work that top range for joints/muscle groups besides pin squats/quarter squats, for example bands, chains, box, loaded carries, TKEs, rows, etc - putting it all together of course is harder...

    The biggest advantage with ROM (besides more muscle growth in stretched position) is you get the same muscle stimulation but with a much lower weight. Lower weight means less fatigue, quicker recovery and less injury risk. Why squat 150 kg to parallel when I can get same stimulus with 100 kg ATG with pause. It feels much better to have just 100 kg on ur back.

    • @kavishurethireswaran2748

    There's a finnish bodybuilder how said that his quads didn't grow doing full range squats. Everybody said to him you have to squat deep because full range of motion in the only way. One day he started doing half squats with heavy weight and his quads started to grow.

    I know Stephen Scullion (Marathon runner \ Olympian) talks about doing quarter squats in his gym routine and if you look at the range of motion in running that seems to make sense that you would train that. I’m sure ATG would also be beneficial in its own right but just trying to make sense of things.

    • @20bucktakedeal75

  • @Egoliftdaily
    @Egoliftdaily 23 години тому

    Great talk, boss. I've changed my mind a lot about ROM through the years. For competition standards, there are rules that have to be followed for a lift to be "full rom" and competition legal. But in training? Should we really follow rules? Especially if the lifts are meant to be for recreational purposes only? In my case, I think not. Long story short, I've adjusted my training to what feels more comfortable on my joints and muscles and unintentionally improved on my "Full ROM" movements. For bench press for example, I just focused on arched back, 3" Block press - eventually, just on a whim, I was able to do a flat back, feet up on bench press with 227lbs for 10 reps without even training for it. Nothing world class but pretty damn good for me. It just happened simply because I got stronger doing something else with much shorter ROM. That's why nowadays, I just focus on lifts that are "easier" for me.
