Hi. My name is Ivan Djuric and I am passionate about fitness. In particular, strength training. My goal is to reach a 300kg Squat,
300kg Deadlift and a 180kg Bench Press. As secondary goals, I am aiming to achieve 100 Pushups in 1 nonstop set and 30 strict dead hang Pullups. On my journey to these goals, I hope to inspire, educate and motivate as many people as I can. I think UA-cam is a great platform to achieve this. So follow along and never hesitate to leave a comment or question as I'd be glad to answer them. Now lets go get that next set!

Squat everyday Day 1639: Slow motion
Ivan my brother. It’s not rocket science. It’s called a warm up for a reason. You want to be warm. Whether it’s jumping rope, hoping on the bike, light jog… The point is to become warm. Far too many individuals neglect proper warmup because they want to get to the “fun stuff” asap.
I think the cycling is good general movmenet which I find is good for recovery. Really any sort of movement probably has some general produtivity for recovery and for joint health.
I like it when you film from straight onto the bar end so that the bar path path is easy to see. Best wishes and cheers!
I walk for 1hr 20min twice a week and either do jumprope for 25-30 min once or 10-15 sprints or hill sprints, I of course lift trice per week aswell. Been at it for 15+ years atm, been at it without cardio and with cardio and let me tell you cardio is a must!
If it works for you, then keep at it, boss. That's all that matters. Just be objective about it though. Monitor your progress logs and see if it really leads to improvements AKA PRs. If it does, then even more reason to keep doing it, haha.
I remember Klokov said he improved when he added cardio. He simply was able to train even more. I'd say it's a fine balance before it impacts your top strength. Ofc. You need to find YOUR balance. I for one love running right now during summer. I don't care about top strength right now eithe so I run quite alot.
Devon Larrat always preaches high rep blood pump work for all the structures involved in arm wrestling (wrists, elbows) as injury prevention, recovery, etc. Makes sense that doing that for the knees and hips helps the squats.
Cardio if im not mistaken it was increasing capillary density in muscles more oxygen more blood cells more power output Ivan. I really am feeling better when i do my workout after i walk like 15 minutes on %12 incline cause it makes my lower body burn
Bruce Lee said cardio gave you real world power.
I know what you mean. Explosive unbroken bodyweight squats as a form of warmup help me to move from labouring to lifting.

If you are always squatting full range of motion with straight weight, I guess a question that is left unanswered is "Are you EVER really really stressing the top range of motion?". Imho, you can do a lot of things to work that top range for joints/muscle groups besides pin squats/quarter squats, for example bands, chains, box, loaded carries, TKEs, rows, etc - putting it all together of course is harder...
Those plates are beautiful - where did you get them ?
Yeh man they look awesome. I got em from rogue.
holy shit man, I'm out of words!
Cheers man

All squats are good.
I like apples
Ivan, What is the purpose of holding on to the bar while safety bar squatting?
Called Hatfield squats, he has quite a few videos recently about them
Oh yeah, thats right,cI forgot, low key no belt
The biggest advantage with ROM (besides more muscle growth in stretched position) is you get the same muscle stimulation but with a much lower weight. Lower weight means less fatigue, quicker recovery and less injury risk. Why squat 150 kg to parallel when I can get same stimulus with 100 kg ATG with pause. It feels much better to have just 100 kg on ur back.
I mean with this logic u should just do hack squats for even more stimulus for less fatigue
There's a finnish bodybuilder how said that his quads didn't grow doing full range squats. Everybody said to him you have to squat deep because full range of motion in the only way. One day he started doing half squats with heavy weight and his quads started to grow.
Tais ne kyykkyt olla 90 kulmaan kuitenki
Wow. That's great. That's a prime example of the value of experimenting with movements and trying things different from the established Conventional Wisdom.
Ivan Seedman Collab incoming
Just added my first day of low bar squats in im not worrying about depth its just about heavy
Range of motion and technique always change over time. Especially Squattin and other multi joint exercises.
I know Stephen Scullion (Marathon runner \ Olympian) talks about doing quarter squats in his gym routine and if you look at the range of motion in running that seems to make sense that you would train that. I’m sure ATG would also be beneficial in its own right but just trying to make sense of things.
Meh not that much. I feel like quarter squats only make sense if you’re trying to use tons of weight for no reason.
@@20bucktakedeal75 you think? I wonder what about doing a tonne of volume in the quarter squat would be like.. purely in relation to running.
They definitely have their place. #remembehatfield
Great talk, boss. I've changed my mind a lot about ROM through the years. For competition standards, there are rules that have to be followed for a lift to be "full rom" and competition legal. But in training? Should we really follow rules? Especially if the lifts are meant to be for recreational purposes only? In my case, I think not. Long story short, I've adjusted my training to what feels more comfortable on my joints and muscles and unintentionally improved on my "Full ROM" movements. For bench press for example, I just focused on arched back, 3" Block press - eventually, just on a whim, I was able to do a flat back, feet up on bench press with 227lbs for 10 reps without even training for it. Nothing world class but pretty damn good for me. It just happened simply because I got stronger doing something else with much shorter ROM. That's why nowadays, I just focus on lifts that are "easier" for me.
Yeh I hear ya. Each range is building something else. Change it up and build something which is lagging. Makes sense to me man.
@@IvanDjuric300there’s no sticking point at the top end so even if you quarter squat it won’t improve your full rom squat without training it and etc
@@20bucktakedeal75 quarter squats are all quads and core. More quad strength is used in bottom of squat. Especially atg squats. That’s where quads are most active. So there can be good carryover.
yeah that makes sense
Dude, i cringe when i watch athletes doing those quarter squats and sometimes its not even that but more like a 1/8 squat. Not only are they not doing them from the pins like you mentioned but they are also trying to jump with the damn thing... just wow!!!
Yeh doing them without pins is scary to me. The weight is just too heavy to mess around.
The jumping with it is done for a reason it's about explosive power that's how Usain bolt did them
Djuvan Iric
Hahahah

Great effort is that ....all that time off and pulling that... I honestly thought your pr was 270
Thanks man
Would you sell your Evo? 👀
Oh I love that car man
Ivan, curious as to what stationary bike you are using??
260kg is 260kg. If you want sore biceps from one rep, try to do one arm pull up. You may also tear something, don't anyone blame me if you do 😅
front squats could work for strengthening that mid back no?
Rest easy Connie. ❤️
👍
But have you tried ped??? Good shit brother. Keep it up!
It's more than the one rep - it's all the sets leading up to it + the SSB (even though you maybe didn't do that much). But, yeah, mid/upper back is something I've been harping on a long time. Upper back, ab work, posterior chain, and (for you) ankle mobility/stability are things to work on.
Pump and soreness are useless markers of progress. The only marker that matters is performance increases. Increase in reps, increase in weight or increase in form quality.
When are we going back to straight bar squats?
The fact that you did this after an hour of bike riding tells me you've got 270 kg in the tank, no diggity. Like right now. Also, great pull!
Hate DL's as a tall ectomorph, very hard on low-mid back. At 66 goblet squats are my "cocaine". LOL I'm amazed that your DOMS haven't sidelined your training after 1666 days! 🤯
I hit a bench pr and was sick the next day and a week later its just going away
Cheers
Bro I used to watch your videos a few years ago and now tried it this year, made so much progress! Been tracking it on my TikTok, +20kg.
The mid back being sore does not necessarily indicate that you are not working it enough. What if your mid back was actually pulling beyond its fair share during that deadlift single.
Hey Ivan, related to your ending notes on stretched muscles - I'm sure you are familiar with the many mentions of the stretch literature. Jeff Nippard and Renaissance Perioidization are some proponents of it.
